The characters gain a universal component as the gender and features that built one’s individuality are erased.
The theme represents a direct manifestation of transcendence, which is unreachable to most human beings. Altogether the series represent a battel between the outside and inside world, the mediator between these two concepts being the veil. The veil leaves you to wonder about the infinite particularities that are hidden.
